Hair is important as it is the first thing people see. Caring for your hair is not only topical a larger part is eating healthy and staying active. Our hair is made up of Keratin, like our nails and on a molecular level that’s where we start to see our deficiencies.
What natural hair products does of our hair care is to over a temporary fix to any obvious issues. Obvious issues are ones you can identify right away, your hair is dry, brittle splitting, too soft or won’t hold styles.
4 Natural Hair Techniques Your Hair May Not Like
- Detangling with tools is a technique all on its own. The best method I have found is to finger detangle
- Your hair may not like being blown out. If you do insist though, use a protective oil to blow dry your hair. First of all, it depends on your hair porosity blow drying may be a waste of time. WIth low porosity hair, its stubborn and the ends will more than likely not budge. That is not so you should not try it, I am saying it may not last more than a few hours. Grapeseed oil has a higher burning rate like say an olive oil and will stand as a better heat protectant.
- Cornrows and some protective styles can be really tight and your poor scalp cannot handle all that tension. You may end up losing your edges or chunks of hair if you are not careful. Some styles will not work for everybody, learn from other naturals to avoid drastic issues.
- Shampoos can be harsh, drying and itchy. There are really good shampoos out there and you can visit my Pinterest board for a list of all the shampoos and conditioners that can help with better cleaning of your scalp. If you find none works to limit your shampoos to one or two times a month or try dry shampoos. When cleansing your hair concentrate on the scalp and not let any shampoo get t the ends
