7 Natural Hairstyles For Newly Naturals

Natural Hairstyles for 4c Hair girls

Nobody has time to do elaborate manipulations on your hair every day, here are 7 Natural Hairstyles that anybody can try.  Tell me, what is your go-to Natural Hairstyles?

I figure one post could answer these questions in its entirety. Fortunately for me, I have most times lived in the Caribbean, where humidity is my close personal friend. Living in a perpetual Summer cycle, there are few hairstyles that I just love and always do. Please note, I have very coarse thick hair, which the Natural Hair community labels as 4C. I do have a mixture of B & C but my C portions are who needs the love and care the most.

You will need for all these styles

  1. Wide teeth Comb
  2. Hair Gel – Eco Styler
  3. Hair Pins
  4. Hair Brush
  5. Shea Butter
  6. Spray Bottle With water
  7. Knee High stockings for shorter hair or Hair Tie without metal prongs for longer hair
  8. Toothbrush for those edges
  9. Edge control  – Cantu

Most of these looks can be obtained effectively on an old twist-out, braid out or Bantu Knot out

High Bun #2:

Super High Buns are so in for the season, it keeps you cool, sleek and trendy. This will be difficult to do with very thick hair if there isn’t some stretching done to your hair, for TWA’s and shorter this style would not be for you so much. I used a blow dryer on low heat, to get my hair as straight as possible and use a Donut Hair Bun Ring to achieve and maintain the shape.

  1. Use blow dryer on low heat to stretch hair or any other stretching method that works
  2. For thick hair section a small portion in the middle of your head leaving the sides. Hold it secure with a hair tie
  3. Swoop the rest of hair up and brush it into place
  4. Use your gel to help to slick hair up, for thicker hair you may have to apply gel in small sections
  5. Hold all the hair together with a hair tie
  6. Pull hair through the hole in the  doughnut hair accessory
  7. Fold hair around doughnut till its all covered
  8. Secure with pins or a hair tie

Super Sized Bun with Braid:

This may be a little difficult to understand, but rest assured its in my description and not that its difficult

  1. Spray your hair with my leave-in conditioner solution in an upwards motion
  2. Use Gel to slick back your hair and edges
  3. A knee-high stockings /hair tie/ catching device is used to pull hair up towards the top of your head.
  4. Apply moisture to the ends of your hair with conditioning solution and use a wide-teeth comb to comb or fingers to detangle hair as much as possible.
  5. Braid a small portion of your hair to hide hair tie
  6. Catch the ends of your hair with a small rubber band, the  rubber band should be almost at the tip of tour hair, it will look like a balloon on top of your head
  7.  Use your finger to push the rubber band at the tip (the area of the imaginary balloon you would tie)  into your scalp and pin to secure
  8. Use a small piece of hair that was braided to wrap and hide the stockings

Loose Undefined Braid Out

  1. On blown out or stretched hair, section hair into halves.
  2. Use a TINY BIT of Shea Butter Mix and Gel or any Twist defining cream to make 8- 10 Large Braids in your hair, (4-5 on each side) Ensure not to saturate hair with product, if your hair is soaking wet your hair will shrink and it won’t take 10 mins to do this style
  3. Using the tension method, Blow dry each braid until dried
  4. Loosen Braids
  5. Fluff hair with pick  to shape around face
With 4c or thicker condensed hair, this look is not very easy to achieve without having some stretch and length to your hair

Natural Hairstyles doesn’t always have to consist of twists, braids or elaborate intricate styles. Your natural hair journey should be a hassle or spent doing your hair for hours, even though sometimes that will happen.
